Project Air Launches "$1,000,000 in 100 days" Fundraiser

KIGALI, Rwanda (PA) - The international yoga community is the target of an unprecedented international effort to raise $1,000,000 in 100 days. The campaign has been organized to support the work of Project Air, an organization noted for its innovative use of yoga for trauma therapy in post-genocidal Rwanda. "We are asking the yoga community worldwide to come together to support the great healing work being done by Project Air," said Eddie Stern, a New York City yoga instructor and Project Air board member.

"This is a truly exceptional organization which is making a great difference in the lives of many women and children who are enduring an extreme state of suffering and hardship. And we are asking everyone in the yoga

community to extend a hand and broaden the reach of Project Air into other areas of great conflict, such as Eastern Congo."

Project Air has won praise and endorsement from the UN for its work in Rwanda. To deliver on its mission to help the world's most vulnerable women and children, it recently announced plans to expand its operations, first into Eastern Congo and then into other countries in Africa and around the world.

The 100-day fundraiser will run online until the beginning of February 2010.
